ANOMIC BOND are a two-piece electronic band from Kaiserslautern, Germany, formed in 2020. The group consists of André (synths, guitar, bass) and his sister Leni (lead vocals, occasionally synths and guitar). The group's debut EP, Collision, was released on 11/11/2020.

The band name, anomic bond, is a contradiction in terms, as the term "anomic" is alluding to the concept of anomie as popularised by the French sociologist Émile Durkheim, meaning a "societal condition defined by an uprooting or breakdown of any moral values, standards, or guidance for individuals to follow", whereas a "bond" requires the state of being connected to another entity. The name is also a paronomasia of the term atomic bond which is a covalent bond, a type of chemical bond that is responsible for the firm cohesion of atoms in molecularly structured chemical compounds.
The band started in early 2020 as a studio project between the siblings, although physically separated due to the measures taken to restrict corona virus. The first song off their EP, "We Collide", was produced almost entirely remotely and deals with the state of being separated from someone close, processing the strange disposition we are currently still in.
